Let me introduce myself 🧑🧑

Hi, I’m Laurin - a young structural engineer living in Denmark, but originally from Germany.

I started creating content online in January 2022 on my blog Structural Basics, because I couldn’t find any simple step-by-step example guides online on how to design certain structures (timber beam, steel column, rafter roof, etc.).

An architecture friend asked me how she can learn to design a flat roof timber beam and I was surprised that there wasn’t any information available on the web.

That was the moment when I decided to take action and document what I learned in the past years.

Now, as the blog has grown and is still growing, I am ready for the next step:
