Hi guys,
This is a very untypical email as we are not talking about structural design for once.😄😄
In this email, I want to share numbers about Structural Basics from different platforms, my ideas for content on the different channels as well as future plans.
But first of all: Thanks to each and every one 🙏🙏 who has been following Structural Basics. It’s actually wild how many people we’ve reached since the start in January 2022.
It’s great to be able to share this journey with you!
I am also quite excited to share that we have hit 2 big milestones here on the newsletter and on YouTube.
YouTube: Over 640 subscribers with only 7 videos.
Newsletter: 250+ subscribers with an average opening rate of 37.5% which is a lot better than industry standard. 🔥🔥
I wanted to do this update email for 500 subscribers on YouTube, but it happened too quickly, and I have been very busy personally in July and August.
Ok, let’s look at some more data.
YouTube
11900 views
347 watch hours
643 subscribers
Newsletter
1050 Views in the last 30 days
251 subscribers
37.5 % opening rate 👍👍
Subscribers from 63 different countries 🌍🌏
Blog - Structuralbasics.com
Let’s move on to my blog. I have to say this is still the main focus and it’s where I put in most work, posting 1 new blog post a week.
Here are the numbers:
25.000+ monthly users. These users are mostly coming from Google
40.000+ monthly pageviews
Here are the 10 most popular posts from the last 30 days ⬇️⬇️
The site has seen a big push in numbers recently after stagnation for 3-4 months. This is due to Google latest core update, which evaluates content online differently. This is great news for us and is just confirming that we are on the right path and creating valuable content. 👍👍
We could hit the 30.000 users and 50.000 pageviews per month soon. 🚀🚀
Future Plans
As I already said, the main focus is the blog, and that I post 1 article a week. This is a lot of work next to my full-time job as a structural engineer, where I work roughly 45 hours a week. Every blog post takes me about 5–10 hours to create because I want to deliver the best quality with many visuals and easy-to-understand language.
I hope that the content about structural engineering is helping in one or the other way!
I also started translating some blog posts into my native language - German. Maybe you have seen the Germany flag in the right corner of the website? 🙂🙂
As you might have noticed, I haven’t been as consistent with YouTube videos lately. That is because I have been very busy on my weekends in July and August, and one video also takes approximately 10 hours to create.
I have been catching up with content creation in the last 2 weeks. So I am hoping that I’ll be back with another video in 1 month. The plan is to post 1 video a month.
That was it for this “personal” Structural Basics update. I simply wanted to share something from the journey we are on and say thank you for your support.🙏👍
I have gotten many emails in the last 1.5 years with questions or positive feedback.
Cheers,
Laurin. 😎😎
Laurin, Thanks for all of the really well done tutorials. Can you add Imperial for those of us that don't use the metric system?
Thank You,
Wayne
